Speed Up Windows Vista

Turn off unnecessary Windows features.

By default, Vista comes with tons of features that are enabled based on assumptions which may or may not apply to you. Therefore you get a system that is running lots of underground processes, most of which you do not need at all. So one of the great ways to speed up Windows Vista is to disable them. To see the list of Windows features and turn them on or off, go to Control Panel, change to "Classic View", click on "Program Features" and then select "Turn Windows Features On And Off". Some examples of features you may want to disable are:

- Remote Differential Compression

- Windows Meeting Space

- Tablet PC optional components

- And so on.

Turn off Windows Indexing.

The Windows Indexing service was initially planned to be one of the ways to speed up Windows Vista by shortening the search time for files. However, as the volume of hard disk increases exponentially, the service has proven to be a resource intensive program causing massive slowdowns when Windows start to index the millions of files in the system. Select Start then choose Computer, right click on your C Drive and select properties. Under the General Tab, uncheck "Index this drive for faster searching". On the next dialog box, choose "Include subfolders and files". Do the same for the other Drives.

Remove unnecessary start up programs.

When Vista boots up, many programs execute at the start up either in the background or as pop up Windows. Some of these you do not need. You need to take control and eliminate these memory suckers that are lurking in the background. Open your start menu, go to run, and type in 'msconfig', choose the Startup tab and uncheck any items that you do not want to auto-load and click OK.

Defrag your hard disk.

This may not be new to you but if you are thinking of using the Windows Defragmentation Tool in Vista, you can forget about it. Instead, use a free 3rd party tool known as Defraggler (Google it for the download link). It is still quite efficient in comparison to other ways to speed up Windows Vista.

Clean your registry.

One of the often neglected parts of Windows is the registry itself. Many do not realized that one of the best ways to speed up Windows Vista is to make sure the registry is clear of invalid entries which causes Windows to perform unnecessary tasks. Cleaning the registry has other advantages too. In certain cases you can remove Windows errors that pop up during boot up.

Blue screen crash will display all of your pending and an error screen that suddenly come to light that informs you that your screen is frozen. In addition, some errors DLL will also appear and ask if you recently added any new hardware or programs on your computer.

When this incident occurs, they have gone mad, especially if you have not saved or finish something you're working. Of course, you have to do your job again from the beginning. You would be really upset and angry, no? So what can you do to fix blue screen error like this?

The easiest and fastest way to solve this problem is to run a registry cleaner software. And if you've decided to let a technician fix your computer for you, stop there, you do not want to pay for something you can fix yourself, right?

Also, if you want to ask about any technician may be able to resolve the accident, which will undoubtedly tell you that it is a very complex matter and therefore should be treated by a professional like him. If the technician is not to say there will be no business left for him.

But in reality, what is going to do is just run a registry cleaner in the drive and then asks for the payment of reparations and the software used. Furthermore, unloading, installation and repair of the blue screen error using a software is not very difficult to do and that saves time and, well, why would you pay someone else just to make something simple for you?

Here are some things you can do to fix and solve your blue screen crash. This is especially useful if you're not familiar with the technical team and just want quick and simple solutions.

1. Restart your computer

Sometimes the blue screen comes out only once and then not again for a second time. In this case, a simple restart is just what you need to resolve the blue screen crash.
On the other hand, if the problem is more regular, you may have to deal with other things.

2. Replace your random access memory (RAM)

RAM is a hardware that is permanently installed inside the computer's motherboard. It is a rectangular piece that holds the information. This is where the CPU gets the instructions. And once this equipment is not functioning normally, without doubt, the computer crash in the blue screen. And so, the replacement of the RAM can be a solution.

3. Run a registry cleaner

A registry cleaner can eliminate errors in your record. This record stores all information about the software, drivers, applications and games that are installed on your computer. And in time, it can get bad, because some obsolete entries are not deleted and can lead to what they call the "blue screen of death."

storage area network

These days, with these growing amounts of data, servers cannot manage to uphold it for longer years. These servers may not perform high processing power and deliver the services faster, if the storage capacity goes beyond its capability. Hence, organizations are also implementing several storage devices such as SAN (storage area network), NAS (network attached storage), DAS (direct attached storage), Storwize V7000, tape autoloaders, tape drives, cartridges, flash drives, optical drives, hard disk drives (HDD), solid state drive (SDD) and many more. All these devices are essential to pace up with the storage needs of the enterprise to maintain the stability and reliability. However, SAN devices are the common storage systems in the IT industry as these are more popular to maintain the data and provide network connections over organizational network domain.
Storage area network provide high speed network to connect different storage devices that are associated with the servers. These devices provide a large endorsement to the main servers in enhancing the data storage and organizational efficiency. It can incorporate sub networks with NAS; however, it could be an utterly different kind from NAS. SAN are often accessed over local area network protocols through fibre channel, infiniBand, iSCSI and plenty of additional. It cannot be connected directly if you're victimization communications protocol or information processing protocols. These protocols ought to be enforced to supply the info access. Communications protocol or information processing protocols are often used to write and read on file servers and internet servers. Thus, SAN is a good device to figure on network connections to manage the info. These are cost effective as well.

Windows 8 the ultimate

  1. 8.       Apps like angry birds have been developed
  2. 9.       Windows Phone 8 is a lot like this.
  3. 10.   A lot of Office 365 Home Premium pair able features ( see my article on this too)
  4. 11.   Fast, like water flowing through a pipe.
  5. 12.   Three editions fit for your needs. However no Windows 8 Home Premium.
  6. 13.   A wrap up of why Windows (PC and Phone) 8 is the ultimate upgrade
  1. 1.          More secure than Windows 7.
Windows 8 is more secure because A, it is a new operating system (obviously), B, Microsoft tied a lot of loopholes that Windows 7 had (and Vista loopholes due to 7 as a rebirth), C, a lot of security companies have very good offers like Kaspersky Lab and Norton. In addition, this may be a pain, but Microsoft security essentials always turns on when no anti-virus is installed. Yes, there are still Windows 7 lovers out there but they need to face the facts I'm afraid.
  1. 2.          More productive with the alt+tab feature.
The alt+tab feature lets you switch between apps. Like if you are a teen and you have a surface for example (see my article coming soon), and you need to write a report, but you want to beat a record in Angry Birds, and your mom or dad checks on you can just use the attachable keyboard (on the surface and select models) and press alt then tab then select the correct app like Microsoft word in which I am using to write this article.
  1. 3.          New nice features
The new charms feature makes quick changes, searching, going to start, sharing, and seeing your connected devices a snap. View this visual. Last for this section, if you are a run around, windows 8 is more energy efficient than any other edition of windows. It is able to gear energy usage like windows XP.
4.   Why new start function? Why no more start menu? Why the full start screen? Three questions that are frequently asked that I can answer. The new start function is Microsoft's new "metro" look that was supposedly stolen by a german man. The start screen was Microsoft's sign of evolution. The blocky-clean look is also in office 2013 regular and client for office 365.The full screen is to pair with the new apps in the Windows store.
5. Nice personalization features.
The new personalization features allow you to make your account yours. Your personal password screen is the same color as your start screen. All desktop personalization features are the same. The full screen for basic personalization feature is located in the settings charm (cursor to right corner + settings + change pc settings).
6. Nice Microsoft Account Feature.
The new Microsoft account feature makes switching or setting up an account on a new computer is a breeze. If you want one there is a fifty cent fee to confirm that you are an adult. They say half goes to charity and the other half goes to the company, but no one is sure of that yet. Ok, back to the topic in this section. When you set your account as a Microsoft account all of your settings are copied so you will not have to make new connections, create your theme that you have on your other PC,  social network settings are included, and all of your shortcuts (if you have the same programs installed or are waiting to be installed.
7. Good Internet Explorer (IE) Full screen.
The internet explorer full screen (metro mode) is nice for people who do not like the taskbar. It works like the internet app (Android) and safari (iOS).  You can open a new tab by right clicking and click the + button on the top. You can also view other tabs there. The desktop mode is the same thing as in other versions of Windows.
8. Apps like Angry Birds have been developed.
Some applications that you love on your tablet or smartphone like angry birds have been developed to work from the Windows Store, a new app to get more apps. However, not all apps are free yet. Also, a windows store gift card has not been released however may be coming this Christmas.
9. Windows Phone 8 is a lot like this.
Windows phone 8 has the same blocky interface but no desktop. However it is like a PC phone more than any other windows phone. Windows store is included with Windows phone 8 too. See my review next year (when my upgrade comes har har).
10. A lot of Office 365 Home Premium pair able features (see my article on this too).
Office 365 Home Premium the plan of office geared towards home clients. There is a section for SkyDrive in Change PC Settings (Charms bar + settings). You can view all of your files there too.
11. Fast, like water flowing through a pipe.
Windows 8 is even faster than Windows 7. All I can say is Fast start-up, fast troubleshooting, and fast set-up.
12. Three editions fit for your needs. However no Windows 8 Home Premium.
There are three editions of Windows 8. Windows 8 regular aimed towards normal users and home users. Windows 8 Pro is designed for small and medium businesses. Windows 8 enterprise is aimed towards large corporations. Any edition has the same interface but different perks.
  1. 14.             A wrap up of why Windows (PC and Phone) 8 is the ultimate upgrade.
Windows 8 is the ultimate upgrade because it is windows for tablet, laptops, and desktops. Windows 8 is clearly better than Mac OS X 10.8+. It is to modernize your life.
